I've had the idea for Elk in my head for a while. Finally, I decided to take the plunge and create it.
That's when I got in touch with Spencer. He's a brilliant animator and like me, is always up for trying something new.
We met in a cafe in Glasgow and discussed my idea for Elk as an iPad game. I wanted Spencer to provide the character animations for the game. Although it'll be a 2.5D world built in Unity, I knew I wanted the characters to be real and exist in the real world. This is where Spencer comes in.
Mixing traditional 2D stop-frame animation with more modern methods like Unity isn't something I've come across before. So, we thought we'd give it a go.
